Eidos Hungary was a game development studio based in Budapest, Hungary, and a subsidiary of Square Enix. The studio was best-known for its World War II RTS series, Battlestations. Originally founded as Mithis Games Ltd. (also known as Mithis Entertainment) in 2002, the company was acquired by Eidos Interactive in 2006, at which time it was rebranded as Eidos Hungary. Eidos Interactive was itself acquired by Square Enix shortly after in 2009, and, with its acquisition of Eidos Hungary's parent company, Square Enix discontinued the Battlestations franchise and closed the Budapest studio.
