Square Enix Product Development Division 4

Product Development Division 4 would still be spearheaded by Yasumi Matsuno until his resignation from the company due to sickness in 2005, he would be replaced by Hiroyuki Ito. In 2007 they would launch the project name "Ivalice Alliance" to focus in games that would feature the fictional world of Ivalice. These would include Final Fantasy XII International: Zodiac Job System, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, and Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. Yasumi Matsuno would return to develop Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together working as freelancer after writing MadWorld for PlatinumGames. As the first release of Final Fantasy XIV received poor critical reception, many from Product Development Division 4 would be transferred to Product Development Division 3 to work on the rebuild of the game that would later be known as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Very soon after this the team would eventually become Business Division 5. Matsuno would create Algebra Factory as a personal firm for advising and planning. He would be writing scenarios for Final Fantasy XIV expansion Stormblood and Shadowbringers.
