Tango Gameworks

Formerly known as Tango K.K., Tango Gameworks is a Japanese video game developer founded by Shinji Mikami, the creator of the Resident Evil series. The studio was known for having developed The Evil Within series and Ghostwire: Tokyo. Tango's parent company ZeniMax Media was acquired by Microsoft in March 2021, making Tango the first Japanese studio in Microsoft Gaming's development portfolio. In January 25th, 2023 they shadow-dropped Hi-Fi Rush on PC and XBOX, a game that surprised many with its left field visual design and gameplay. In May 7th, 2024 it was announced Tango Gameworks would close its doors as a repriotitization strategy within the Bethesda and ZeniMax teams. In August 2024, South Korean publisher Krafton announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire the studio from Microsoft for an undisclosed amount, while Tango also forged a strategic partnership with Microsoft.
