Game is visually stunning and has a game feel that's a little different than other Fromsoft titles, which is interesting and helps make it unique. I would say it's a "transition" game from FromSoft's Dungeon Crawler past to their Souls-like formula. It is significantly more linear and less-interconnected in it's world, which really hinders it in my opinion. Additionally, You can tell it's a bit more "old school" in its design. An example being - the game encourages a small degree of farming, especially for healing items, which is an older JRPG staple. I never felt like I had enough healing items and had to farm for more. I didn’t mind it too much, but it is a departure from the estus system more modern titles are known for. I keep bouncing off of this title and never seem to finish it. This game isn't talked about as much as Dark Souls and FromSoft's later titles and I think it's because of It's mostly linear levels, lack of character build options, and weird design jank. Cool remake and cool title to explore for fans, but if you're going to play a classic FromSoft game, I'd just re-play Dark Souls again.
