I got a lot of nostalgia for MapleStory. Back in it's heyday, it's world felt MASSIVE and fostered a sense of community. It felt like an adventure. Slowly leveling and exploring the world. Returning to the game as an adult. The adventure is gone and has been overly streamlined to the point of absurdity. Events and quests rocket you up in levels and you bypass large amounts of content. The "end game" is a huge grind of dailies and killing bosses while praying for item drops. It's a massive time sink that offers so very little in terms of satisfaction and rewards. Maybe it's always been this way and just took me this long to notice.
